zosianicola's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- wet Mydog and I were going to return to SA today, leaving 6,8 hours before the ice storm, but the ice storm arrived early. I don't have to be there until THursday but the ice storm is supposed to hang on until THursday----maybe since it arrived early it will dissipate early. Whatever, I can't drive in this stuff, and Texans are even worse at driving in this stuff than I am. So if I miss a day of school, so what? Weather.com thinks the ice storm will hit SA also, so school may even have to close The roof is still leaking. It has been leaking for weeks, and the guy who put it on can't seem to fix it. It's right at the front of the house, several waterproof tablecloths on the floor with buckets under the drips. This winter has been the wettest I remember since the year we moved into this house---that year, one night, we got 12 inches, and the water came up through the floor. the house could have floated away. That night Nina was out camping with the Girl Scouts! I was so afraid they were being washed away. We didn't have cell phones yet. Can you believe that? No cell phones! We couldn't learn whether the girls were safe. the boydogs are so glad to be home! They probably thought they were going to spend the rest of their lives in the vet's kennel. Rather than resenting us and punishing us for leaving them, they are being sweet and cuddly and well-behaved. 7:24 a.m. - 2007-01-15 ---------------------------------------------------------
