zosianicola's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- this might happen Here's what might happen if you have a dog recovering from surgery who thinks he is just fine and doesn't want to remain resting and recuperating anymore: you might be walking him outside on a leash in the rain, not going far because he is only 3 days post-op and has a 3-inch incision on his shoulder, and he might start to wildly run and leap at the very end of the radius of the leash, trying in desperation to have some fun because he hasn't had any in three days. You might pick him up in order to assert control and try to calm him down so that the staples in his shoulder don't come loose, not only because that would be painful and messy but also because your vet is not going to be reachable on Xmas Eve and Xmas Day He might then begin to thrash wildly in your arms in objection to being picked up. He might thrash so wildly that his head hits yours right in your face three times is quick succession in such a way that your glasses get roughly smashed into your face. you might feel so much pain right in your nose and cheekbone that you think your nose is broken. You might run down the street calling your husband for help and crying because you think your broken nose will prevent you from going scuba diving in two weeks, a trip that is already paid for
